 B-17 flight, with video

My flight on this particular B-17 (I've flown on several) was two years ago, but given some extra space on my server I've finally been able to get some video posted of a flight I made in April 2004.

Pics and vid, enjoy.

And, think carefully about the men who flew these in combat in WW2.

 2006 350Z engine compartment

For the purpose of comparison, here is the 350Z engine compartment as it currently exists. The 2007 350Z - to be announced in January - will feature the improved 3.5 V-6 from the G35 (unfortunately a move to the improved "FM" platform is a few years off).

Comparing the picture here with the 2007 G35 engine picture below, we see that some re-shuffling will be needed undere the hood. One question that is unanswerable at this point is whether the 350Z will need it's hood raised to clear the new engine. A limiting factor of the current Z engine is the very low intake manifold... does the new engine have a taller intake?

Unfortunately, we won't know more until January when the 2007 Z announcement is made.

Continue to Yahoo autos for information on the 2006 Z.

 2007 G35 Engine compartment

2007 Infiniti G35 Sport - EngineThanks to Edmunds Inside Line, this is the first production picture of the engine compartment to appear on the web.

Note the symetrical intake system: two electronic throttle bodies, 2 intake ducts, 2 mass air meters, and two air cleaners. And unseen is a matching true-dual exhaust system. Excellent engineering that will pay dividends in top end performance.

THis engine has everything a modern engine should... except direct injection. That probably explains the slightly lower torque rating than the Lexus IS350 3.5 V-6.

Continue at the link for the full story and full road test.
