Saturday, June 23, 2007    Automobile tests the 2008 G37 coupe!   The first two videos are of the car being dyno'd and the second is driving on a track. While the results of the dyno aren't shown (the engine is rated at 330 HP 269 torque), it's clear from these videos that the engine has power and flexibility across a wide range. The remaining question is how the production version measures up in performance, fit and finish, and engineering quality. That last point especially since the 6-speed manual transmission has been a terrible quality problem all the way back to the introduction of the 350Z. Quality improved in 2007 with the introduction of the G35 sedan, however journalists found a the fatal flaw in the clutch engagement point - it was too high and made it very difficult to shift smoothly and quickly. This is suppossed to be fixed in the 2008 G37 and retrofitted back to the sedan.
