Anticipation is building among driving enthusiasts for the production announcement and start of sale for the new Lancer Evolution X. We'll have all the final details of the new car at the Tokyo Motor show in October. Soon thereafter, the order books will open here in North America.
And then I'll be ordering mine! The only remaining question for me is whether to get the new Twin Clutch SST (dual-shaft) transmission or the conventional manual (strength, durability for track events, modability?).
Colors are a secondary question... and the ostentatious wing is probably mandatory (and even if you think it's over the top, what kind of Evo enthusiast wouldn't get the infamous wing?). I'll also be ordering the nav system.
Meanwhile, my EvoXenthusiast.com site has been updated with some additional technical information Mitsubishi made available this summer. You'll also find information on the "old" models - the IX and VIII, as well as some downloadable wallpapers and other information. And don't forget the store - there are plenty of books and other collectibles available covering all of the old models and the glorious history of this line. Reading is a better way of passing the time than pacing the floor, back and forth, until the first deliveries begin in the spring!
