We've been waiting for years for this moment... and 7tune has it. The first test drive of the new GT-R.
Unfortunately, this test drive was for Nissan employees and related marketing people... not the press. But some impressions have been leaked to Car Top magazine.
Note that the picture of the engine is a mock-up, that's definitely not it. We've seen the GT-R engine before in spy pics. The engine shown is simply the Nissan 350Z engine with a mocked up cover.
There is some new information clarifying transmission choice. Seems there is both a 7-speed (believed to be an automated dual-shaft manual) and a conventional 6-speed manual.
If it's true that the magazines themselves haven't yet test driven the car... then we won't see any introductory road tests until at least the December issues. Comparison tests probably won't be seen until March or April. Given the introduction at the Tokyo show in October, this may well be the media schedule.
Having patience is very tough....!
