Southlake couple investing $3.5 million to turn prairie land into a racecourse

A Southlake couple has purchased 441 acres near Decatur in rural Wise County where they are initially investing $3.5 million to build a Formula One-style auto road course that could be ready by September.

Another new track is going up in Texas – and as you can see from the photo at the left the course has already been laid out. The owners are an enthusiast couple from Southlake Texas who are *very* well-off. The 441 acre track is purely a roadcourse, and the owners are seeking FIA certification. The track also meets SCCA and Grand-Am standards. An open house is expected mid-summer.
