These pictures cover our visit to the Munster House in 2007 for their semi-annual Halloween party. All proceeds benefited a local set of charities. The owners and builders were dressed as Herman and Lilly Munster, and the special guest was Pat Priest, who played Marilyn (“the plain one”) Munster for most of the original episodes. She was very out-going and took the time to graciously talk to all of the guests. The owners led the tour of their house (photos not allowed) and only after seeing the inside can you believe how serious they are about The Munsters. No plans were available from the network, so the outside and inside of the house were built to specifications and measurements arrived at after very careful research. They did an incredibly great job; you’d never believe it if you hadn’t seen it.
You’ll note a number of other monsters – they were volunteer workers who also dressed up. Even Elvis was present (as you’d expect). Some guests also dressed up. Their next event will be Halloween 2011. This was indeed a “Car event” – several antique cars were present and a duplicate of the original Munster Coach is under construction.
