Category covering the Microsoft Office System 2007 - formerly code-named Office 12. I've participated in every beta of Office since 1997, both on my own and as a former Microsoft employee.
Whether you've got a TabletPC or not, this is the killer way to store your notes at the track. Alignments, tire pressures, other setup infirmation, notes on the track, events results, and more. I also use it at my work and on my home PC - everything is stored in OneNote, nothing is written on paper, and everything is searchable (even your handwriting and images).
GREAT video by Microsoft of a trip thru a software convention... and a lesson about the Office 2007 "ribbon" interface! The new "ribbon" is a great piece of work, showing the company at it's creative best.
Jensen Harris of Microsoft continues to have the best blog of the company. Jensen focuses on Office 2007... he writes clearly, loves his topic, and his blogs are very worthwhile for all Office users (and offer an invaluable preview on Office 2007).
But in this post he talks about a tourist diversion on a recent trip to London: the longest escalator in Western Europe (the "tube" escalator at the Angel station on the Northern Line - nine stories high).
I've been there myself, for the same exact purpose, also while in London on a software promotion gig. Although the trip where I took the big escalator ride was followed by a trip to Copenhagen, not preceeded.

There are a *lot* of blogs being published from inside Microsoft - and Microsoft certainly has more going on in this field than anybody by far.
Within Microsoft, the Office team has the most and best blogs. Jensen Harris of the Microsoft Office team has one of the best (along with Chris Pratley of OneNote), and he posts regularly. It's little secret that a new beta of Office 2007 is coming sometime soon. probably this month. and if you aren't signed up for it you should do so now. Office 2007 (as I've discussed on my own blog before) has been updated in several really great ways. including a major interface change (100% different) for Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
If you a power user of these programs (as I am) you'll want to take a look at their new function and appearance. I've been running them myself for several months now and have already replaced my Office 2003 installs with the 2007 beta. It's that good, I wouldn't go back. Jensen remind us in his morning post to register for the 2007 Office beta here: http://www.microsoft.com/office/preview - click the button labeled "Register Now".
Microsoft has recently updated the Office3 2007 beta release 1 with a special update known as a "Technical Refresh". The update is only available to members of the Technical Beta test team (that's me) and it previews the look of the upcoming Beta 2 release later this year. This is not the final look and feel yet - but it is approaching it.
As you can see, the "ribbon" has been significantly updated in b1TR. Graphics have also been improved, and the function of the ribbon has been significantly tweaked.
New to b1TR are two color themes for Office applications - Obsidian and Luna (shown below). The following screen images are from the beta running on XP, although Vista is now supported as well. PowerPoint is representative of the changes across all Office applications using the new interface.
The Options menus have also changed in Office 2007 - and much for the better. The menu below shows where the color schemes are selected.
