Edmunds first drive of the Evo X JDM-spec

Edmunds takes their first drive of the Japanese-spec Evo X in Tokachi, Japan.

Continue at link for the full report.

Lots of good news: such as a semi-closed block (versus the open block of the STI); the TC-SST changes gears with "vigor"; the car only gains 100 pounds over the Evo 9. And we find that there will be a special aggressive RS model after launch.

Mitsubishi Motors also supplied some additional images today: 1) the Recaro interior (with leather option); 2) Red MR with bright rims; 3) the chrome grill surround on the MR model.

Evo X - bluetooth phone option

A picture named evo-x-bluetooth.jpgHere's an interesting little detail that hadn't been seen onthe Evo before - the Bluetooth phone option. Note the bottons hidden under the left side of the steering wheel.

Probably part of the Nav system option - which is a good thing. I've been using a nav system to explore back roads in Texas and I'm glad to see it as an option here since the Evo will certainly be a fabulous car for driving back roads. And the Bluetooth will make coordinating with other cars on a group drive easier and much less distracting.
