IMHO, there is a bit too much hype surrounding the Mustang. The convertible is just starting to flex on people now that they have a few miles on them. It's miles ahead of the obsolete and ancient SN95, but it's still not up to world class standards. The Shelby 'vert will be even worse: weighing in at just over 4000 pounds and with almost 58% of it's weight on it's nose, it will be the porkiest Mustang ever.
Ford has a problem - the "mod engine" family is dated, the Hurricane engine replacement has apparently run into troubles (nothing has been reported in the press, but it's well known something happened). If the Hurricane is still alive, or if some other new engine is being developed, chances are (given the economic state of Ford these days) it's been farmed out to be developed at an engineering company like this one. There are dozens of companies like this in the Detroit area... this particular company is just one possibility.
This is an interesting site... good reading... and they recently did some excellent work on the Jaguar diesel engine.
