After the tragic death of co-star Paul Walker, the film crew at Universal Studios was left with a major problem to solve: how to handle the demise of his character in the film, whether to use a look-alike replacement, whether to drop the entire series at all, or how to come up with some sort of other solution. And it gets worse because the availability of all the other stars has to line up when shooting restarts.
And given the original – and aggressive – release date planned for July 11 2014, what would the new date be?
As of this week we have an answer to the second question, from Vin Diesel’s own blog. The movie is a go, and the release date is April 10, 2015. But no word yet on how they will handle the demise of the character, or how much of the film that had been shot would be useable.
