Current Status
I was the original owner of the car, and it has since gone to two other owners. Both owners connected with me and took up track events in the car. The current, 3rd, owner is doing very well with the car and it's as reliable as ever, despite about 80k track miles!

- I was finally back in Texas from my stay in Toronto, and it was time to build up another car.
- The engine was a bit of disappointment stock, but worked very well with mild mods (over 260 RWHP). However, I knew I couldn't get to my long-range targets with this car (a friend with an identical car later switched to a 351 and T-56). Nonetheless, the car's setup and handling (once modified) was fantastic and I knew Ford had a much better engine on the way. So, the plan was to use the car to bide my time, awaiting the exotic and superior mod-motor.
- The stock handling components were plain awful - the car basically used the V-6 springs and front sway bar and a larger rear sway bar. This just had to go, and 6 months later I got it all the pieces were replaced.
- Once I modified the suspension, I found I could out-handle nearly any other car with this car, however, the engine was just not going to be competitive without major rework.
- This car's handling advanced to the point where a panhard bar was a requirement. You can't run wheels over 8" wide without a panhard rod - period. (follow link for more information)
- Cooling was a problem - this car once garked it's fluid once TWS. The car needed a larger grill to improve airflow, a better radiator, and a larger water pump pulley. Of course, running it at redline in 100+ degree temp didn't help either!
