With the debut of the production G35 sedan complete, next up should be the G Coupe. The concept, shown below, was introduced at the January 2006 North American International Auto Show. Note that Infiniti is already selling a 2007 G Coupe – so the new coupe would be a 2008 model. Perhaps the introduction will occur at the New York show in April?
Expect at least the 306-HP engine from the G35 Sedan. There may also be a little bit more power – look for a sign to the 2007 350Z, which will be announced in January, and which will also receive the VQ35HE engine. Note that the 350Z will still use the old FM chassis – while the G35 Sedan and 2008 Coupe have moved up to the new and much-improved version of it.
Remember that the G35 Coupe Concept shown below is a concept – not a production prototype. However, if we take the G35 Sedan Concept as a guide, reduce the size of the wheels and brakes, add door handles inside and out, add side view mirrors and you essentially have the final product. The skyroof is also unlikely, at least in this large a form.
